“This album is a hit” – VOGUE
“They are going to be huge.” – Daily Telegraph

“Fans of the pair’s first three EPs will absolutely love it” – Rolling Stone (3.5 stars)

“Tantalising two-disc debut”– Uncut

Angus and Julia Stone are the Australian siblings whose monster UK buzz is just now making its way stateside. The duo’s debut album A Book Like This is garnering unbelievable praise from some of the most revered publications across the globe.

Actress Natalie Portman recently selected the band’s song “The Beast” to appear on her hand-picked compilation, Big Change: Songs For Finca, an iTunes exclusive playlist with net proceeds going to benefit FINCA, an international microfinance organization that provides financial services to the world’s lowest-income entrepreneurs.

After massive Australian success, the band picked up and moved from its Australian home to London last year when their EPs -- “Heart Full Of Wine” and “Chocolates & Cigarettes”—were released there. They also picked up a permanent drummer, Mitchell Connelly. Shortly after relocating, Fran Healy—lead singer / songwriter for the band Travis, began helping them with the material that became A Book Like This.

Angus & Julia recorded much of A Book Like This on Healy’s lounge-room floor using vintage guitars and microphones. The other portions were recorded in their mother’s lounge-room in Newport Beach, Australia with producer and friend Ian Pritchett.

Tracks like the first single (and Portman fave) “The Beast” reveal the duo’s deep talents in songwriting and performance. Numerous UK and US publications have recently discovered the duo, and bestowed them with some of the kindest words we’ve seen in ages. One listen to A Book Like This proves that this duo is sure to be the next indie folk sensation. See for yourself what all the fuss is about!
