“We’re excited to be kicking off the first PacTour with such an amazing lineup of bands,” said Tracy Cioffi, senior director of Marketing for PacSun. “Our PacSun girls and guys are all about music and fashion so we’re bringing both together in a great way in their city, and in their favorite PacSun store.”
Added The Audition Singer Danny Stevens: “We’re really excited. It’s a total honor to be chosen as the first band to headline PacTour and we can’t wait to get out there. PacSun is such an awesome store, so we hope all the kids who shop there come out to the shows.”
Victory Records’ The Audition (MySpace.com - The Audition - Chicago IL, ILLINOIS - Rock / Pop - www.myspace.com/theaudition) are headlining PacTour in support of their sophomore release Champion. This Chicago quintet has heard many definitions of what their sound is: pop, punk, dance, rock – take your pick. Truth is, they’ve earned every one of them by blending smart pop lyrics and grooves with memorable guitar licks and addictive beats. When deciding how to follow up their 2005 debut Controversy Loves Company, their strategy was simple: stay true to the band’s core rock sound but turn up the heat with ultra catchy melodies and lyrics that reflect the group’s maturation. “We named the record Champion because it’s a statement,” drummer Ryan O’Connor says. “It tells everyone in one word what we think our record is.” Champion will be released nationally January 22nd.
Photo Finish Records’ Envy on the Coast presents the next wave of music from Long Island, recently declared Newsday. The band has shared the stage with My Chemical Romance, Circa Survive, Boys Like Girls, 30 Seconds to Mars, Saosin, Saves the Day and Angels and Airwaves among others. They continue to place a heavy emphasis on touring to support their recently released debut full-length Lucy Gray.
Photo Finish Records’ Danger Radio's style comes from a diverse background, citing influences ranging from Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and 80s pop music to Stevie Wonder funk, jazz and even French symphonic compositions. The Punch Your Lights Out EP is out now, and they are working on their debut full-length to be released in the summer of 2008.
Band Recordings/Doghouse Records’ Another Day Late (MySpace.com - Another Day Late - Costa Mesa, California - Alternative / Progressive / Rock - www.myspace.com/anotherdaylate) are touring in support of their debut EP News Said It’s Raining In New York, which comes out in early January. Though it is usual to see bands changing with the times, it seems that, conversely, rock is growing towards Another Day Late. With music that lies at a perfect intersection of genre-lines, and having played the Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos and the Honda Civic Tour before even signing their record deal, Another Day Late is sure to turn heads in 2008.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 7, 2008. More details to follow.
