Writers Return To Nighttime Talk Shows

David Letterman and Craig Ferguson will join Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien when they return to work on Wednesday, with one crucial difference...they will have writers with them when they do. Yes, Letterman's Worldwide Pants, which also owns The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, has sought and received a waiver from the WGA which will allow the writers to return to work when the shows go back into production.

This will be a serious test of whether or not the WGA can remain unified, as writers begin to trickle back to work, a little at a time. The fewer writers on strike, the weaker a strike could be, especially in the long haul, as others will look to these shows and wonder why their peers are making money while they're still walking the picket lines. -G4 (Deadline Hollywood Daily)
