Brad Renfro Dead at 25

Brad Renfro Dead at 25

unfortunate end for 'Wasteland' muse

Actor Brad Renfro was found dead in his home Tuesday morning. He was 25.

The cause of death is not yet known, but the young actor had a well documented history of addiction. Renfro eventually became known in Hollywood more for his arrests and trouble with heroin than for his acting, despite his incredible talent.

A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Renfro's film career began when he was 12, acting opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones in "The Client." His other credits included "Sleepers," "Deuces Wild," "Apt Pupil" and "The Jacket."

Following an arrest after buying heroin off an undercover cop in 2006, Renfro entered rehab and started down the path toward sobriety. He recently completed a role in "The Informers," a film adaptation of a Bret Easton Ellis novel that stars Winona Ryder, Brandon Routh and Billy Bob Thornton. His sudden death comes as a shock to all.

His troubles with drugs and addiction inspired the song 'Wasteland,' a hit for rock band 10 Years. Renfro and 10 Years frontman Jesse Hasek are cousins. Renfro even starred in the original video for the song, playing himself. See it below.
