musicians rally behind Barack Obama...so do I.
Today is Super Tuesday, which in the States means we are looking for a new president (thank you jeebus). Democratic candidate, Barack Obama has been making serious waves with young people and has picked up support from numerous celebrities and musicians. Yesterday, The Grateful Dead reunited in a sold out concert for 'Dead Heads For Obama' in San Francisco, where California's 400+ democratic delegates could lock the nomination for the young Senator. On the other coast, OK Go and Shudder to Think put on a show to motivate young voters in New York, and the Bowery Ballroom hosted a night of comedy, featuring Stella members Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter and David Wain, as well as Paul Rudd. Stevie Wonder has also been an outspoken supporter of Obama, putting on a show/rally at UCLA.
Circulating the web is a video called YES WE CAN, based on the speech given by Obama following his South Carolina victory. The video was directed by Bob Dylan's son, Jesse and features numerous musicians and actors behind his message.
Consider this an Altsounds endorsement.
