‘LEVELLERS’ ANNOUNCE RELEASE OF
FREE DOUBLE A SIDE SINGLE
“A LIFE LESS ORDINARY” & “THE CHOLERA WELL”
Released March 3rd on ‘On The Fiddle Recordings’
Recently recorded tracks A Life Less Ordinary & The Cholera Well are taken from the band’s forthcoming studio album, scheduled for release in summer 2008. The single is a true return to form for the band, comprising the best elements of the Levellers - rousing folk melodies, passionate lyrics and a classic punk rock sound. Recorded at their own Metway Studios in Brighton, both tracks are produced by Sean Lakeman (co-producer of Seth Lakeman’s Freedom Fields & Mercury Music Prize nominated Kitty Jay) and mixed by James Brown (Placebo, Nine Inch Nails, Jeff Beck).
The single coincides with Levellers’ 20th anniversary in March 2008. As a band with combined sales in excess of 6 million records, more platinum, gold, and silver selling records in the 1990s than any other act and 14 Top 40 singles (to date), not to mention their award-winning live act, there is much to celebrate – and plenty more to come.
Levellers will be playing three huge Beautiful Nights to mark the event, dubbed in reference to their own award-winning and consistently sold out “Beautiful Days” festival.
The release of A Life Less Ordinary and The Cholera Well signals the start of a hugely active 20th anniversary year which will see Levellers once again play festivals across the length and breadth of Europe, release their new studio album, as well as touring extensively; including some very special venues to be announced in due course.
