SINGER/SONGWRITER JASON REEVES BUBBLING TO THE TOP
Reeves Gains National Attention For Co-Writing Colbie Caillat’s #1 Hit Single “Bubbly,” Launches Tour and Releases New Album “The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache” iTunes and ISC Honoree To Be Featured On Sirius and One Tree Hill.
LOS ANGELES, JANUARY 29, 2008 – Unsigned artist Jason Reeves, who co-wrote Colbie Caillat’s #1 hit single “Bubbly,” is about to embark on his own ‘magnificent adventure.’ As “Bubbly” continues to dominate the charts, Reeves is earning an equal amount of attention as a sought-after singer/songwriter who kicks off a twenty-one city tour today in support of his album The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and Other
Frightening Tales). Reeves will then join up with Caillat on April 10th for a twenty-date college tour.
Self-taught on the guitar, Reeves co-wrote ten of the tracks on Colbie Caillat’s breakthrough album Coco, including the hit single “Bubbly,” which topped the Hot AC, AC and AAA Radio charts, and reached #2 on the
Top 40 chart. In addition to writing the album with Caillat, Reeves also sings on her new single, “Realize.”
Last month, iTunes named Reeves one of the Top Indie Singer/Songwriters of 2007, and called The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache one of the Top Folk Albums of 2007, alongside releases by Folk legends James Taylor and Joni Mitchell. Reeves debuted at #2 on the iTunes Folk chart with a five-star average review and boasts solid chart positions on MySpace as well; including #1 on the MySpace Folk chart (unsigned) for over eight months, #2 on MySpace Acoustic (unsigned), #5 on MySpace Alternative(unsigned),and #17 on the Overall (unsigned) chart with nearly 5 million plays.
In addition, Adventures’ “You In A Song” has been added to Sirius’ Coffee House Channel, “Never Find Again” will be featured on the March 11 episode of One Tree Hill and “Someone Somewhere” was just named as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriters Competition (ISC), with winners to be announced February 4th. Reeves’ adventure is just beginning.
The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache showcases his vocal and songwriting abilities in an album about a relationship from beginning to end, with individual tales of love, hope, heartbreak and renewal. Produced by Mikal Blue, Adventures channels the 1970s Laurel Canyon era that put singer/songwriter icons Mitchell, Taylor and Fleetwood Mac on the map. Reeves, Caillat and Blue, along with Brendan James (who will also tour with Reeves on select dates), are gaining notoriety as the next generation of singer/songwriter folk artists with the collective creating music at Blue’s Revolver Studios in Thousand Oaks.
