New York Prog Heroes Coheed and Cambria follow their second Billboard Top 10 US chart position with a very special UK single release from their album ‘No World For Tomorrow’.
Coheed and Cambria’s first single from the new album is released on March 3rd 2008 as an iTunes Exclusive and will feature not one - but 10! live versions of the song (one from each location on the bands English leg of the Kerrang! tour). ‘Feathers’ has already become a firm live favourite in the US where the band recently finished a massive 2 month tour and is already becoming an anthem for their UK fans following an incendiary show at Southampton Guildhall on Jan 26th.
‘No World For Tomorrow’ follows the critically acclaimed, and snappily titled Million Selling "Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV, Vol 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness," which peaked at number 7 on the "Billboard Top 200." Entering the Billboard charts at number 6 this year, ‘No World For Tomorrow’ surpassed the success of its predecessor and saw the band headlining bigger and better shows throughout the world.
Coheed and Cambria spent the first half of 2007 working on "No World For Tomorrow" in Los Angeles with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour) and mixer Randy Staub (Metallica). With original drummer Josh Eppard out of the band, Coheed recruited Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters to play drums on the record. The making of "No World For Tomorrow" also marks the first time the band have worked with new Columbia co-Chairman Rick Rubin, who played an A&R role in the making of the record.
"NO WORLD FOR TOMORROW" is a notable progression for the band, who has now added ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Chris Pennie as an official new member. While still very much a Coheed record in sound, "No World For Tomorrow" is a much more personal document for Sanchez as he allowed the emotional events of recent years to slip into the lyrical content of the songs for the first time ever. Still, the new record does complete the story of the Amory Wars, and is in fact the final chapter in the saga of Coheed and Cambria Kilgannon, the main characters in a story that wraps all of the band's concept albums into one.
