Switches swagger into Austin and prepare for the release of their US debut
“Lay Down the Law”
Interscope March 18, 2008
"Each track on the album comes spiked with near-intoxicating levels of classic Brit-pop and a gritty, working-class swagger only available on the blue-collar streets of London. And it's all lined up in a perfectly infectious 4/4 time, of course." - NYLON
Hot off their US tour with The Bravery, Switches aren’t slowing down for a second, in fact they are going full force into SXSW playing a host of cool parties including Filter, Spin and NME and due to popular demand there are a slew of new tour dates announced. These lads aren’t all work though and they want you to join them in celebrating the release of their debut album “Lay Down the Law” on March 18th with a very special affair at The Roxy in LA.

For those of you who have yet to see Switches live take a look at what some of your fellow journalists have had to say:
"Two new UK bands opened the show...but only the blustery glam rock of Switches managed to capture the attention of the early crowd. Tunes like “Drama Queen” and “Lay Down the Law” have enough hooks and sleaze-rock muscle to deserve to find their way to mainstream American rock radio." - Boston Herald
"Focusing on material from their upcoming debut album, there’s one thing Switches proved for sure on Saturday night: their music is entirely and utterly danceable—even the frat boys were movin’. Switches make highly-refined rock music—rock music that makes good use of a thumping disco rhythm section. Their music mobilizes people, and in the end listeners are left with no other choice but to bite their lips, get up and dance!" – Filter

The first single from "Lay Down the Law" is the dancefloor-packin' crowd-pleaser 'Drama Queen' recently immortalized in a hot video from renowned director Josh Forbes whose illustrious credits are linked with such acts as the Cold War Kids, Sara Bareilles and Sea Wolf.
"'Drama Queen’ is a song that runs rings around The Vines and makes Supergrass look lethargic." - NME
So until the video hits the small screen, you can listen to 'Drama Queen' on repeat here...because we know you'll want to!!
“Combining foot-stomping drums and bass with tight vocals and sharp guitar riffs, Switches are as cocksure as their pop piers” - Spin
“The British indie rising stars have created another Brit Pop hit and are making confident future strides with their Switches Swagger.” - Filter
"[Switches] brightest spot came with “Lay Down the Law,” the namesake single to their soon to be released album, which seemed to amplify the energy of the crowd, measured in tween scream decibels." - BlackBook
"Switches clearly took the cake with their opening set. Lead singer/guitarist Matty Bishop gave Endicott [of The Bravery] a run for his money, and the fact that he can belt it out while also rocking the guitar certainly said a lot for his talent. The Switches' entire presence certainly spoke for their passion. It was clear that the band's performance was a true experience for them. The band seemed to enjoy every song they played and were ecstatic about the crowd's response. As their fame rises, the Switches would certainly do well to hold on to that passion." - The Lantern (Ohio State University)
