Forming from the ashes of Terminal and Goodbye Tomorrow, Alive In Wild Paint’s four members (frontman Travis Bryant, guitarist Matt Grabe, bassist David Roat, and drummer Austin Wilson) release their long awaited debut album ‘Ceilings’ on Equal Vision Records.
With Alive In Wild Paint hailing from sunny Arizona, and ‘Ceilings’ being a thoughtful expression of accessible indie rock helmed by mega-producer Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Riloy Kiley, Mineral) and mixed by Michael Barbiero (Maroon 5, Guns N Roses) it makes perfect sense to indulge in comparisons to Jimmy Eat World’s Clarity. But while the band acknowledges those parallels, their debut draws from a much wider influences than just its hometown heroes including Nada Surf, Radiohead, Blonde Redhead and The Cardigans.
The hauntingly fragile vocals and piano driven melodies combine to convey a disarming sort of tranquillity that displays Alive In Wild Paints musicianship at its best.
