Luke Temple Releases Exclusive 7”

Luke Temple Releases Exclusive 7”, Celebrates France Release, Snowbeast Named To Daytrotter’s Top Albums of 2007

"a variety of romanticized and alienated imagery that's snatched straight from a time when squares were there to be looked at and made strange... Temple's various gifts amplify each other." - Pitchfork (7.4)

“Mr. Temple isn’t part of any particular school — not even that all-purpose new songwriters’ catchall, freak-folk — and his private world is fascinating.” – Jon Pareles, New York Times

“Temple’s dreamscape lyrics, playful instrumentation and warm, ethereal tenor deftly nudge the would-be boundaries of the singer-songwriter tag.” – Paste

“If it were just his songwriting we would be in love with these songs, but there is so much more…” - David Dye, host of World Café

After what may have been the best performance at SXSW 2008, Luke Temple is back home in Brooklyn writing and recording new material. Luke will also be playing some select northeast dates with Beach House and Peter Morén of Peter Bjorn and John.

Luke stunned a packed out Presbyterian Church in Austin with new and old songs—many from his most recent full-length Snowbeast. The album was recently named one of the “Top 15 Albums of 2007” by Daytrotter. Check out the full story here: Daytrotter: Daytrotter's Best 15 Albums of 2007: Luke Temple's "Snowbeast"

Snowbeast was also released in France via Fargo Records on March 3, 2008. Luke celebrated with a release show in Paris.

Luke also recently released a limited edition seven inch via the highly exclusive Seven Inch Project under the name “BRAIN”. Only five hundred copies of Brain will be printed. Two new songs, “They’re Gonna Land” and “You Could Be Anywhere”, can be found on Luke’s MySpace page (MySpace.com - luke temple - Brooklyn, New York - Other / Pop / Folk - www.myspace.com/luketemple). Brain will be available exclusively through the Seven Inch Project website and at Luke’s shows. Brain can be purchased here: Seven Inch Project: Store.

According to the Seven Inch Project, it’s “a vinyl record label that releases Limited Edition Collectible 7-inch (45-rpm) records. Each record is a Volume in the seven-inch project series & each Volume is by a different artist.” Previous Seven Inch Project artists include Lullatone (Audio Dregs), Half-Handed Cloud (Asthmatic Kitty), and June Madrona (Bicycle Records) Check out: Seven Inch Project for more info.
