Quite the endorsement for the latest offering from Bay Area thrash pioneers Testament, whose ninth studio album, Formation of Damnation, is slated for release on April 29th. The proper follow-up to 1999’s deafening fan-fave The Gathering, Damnation features the original Testament line-up of vocalist Chuck Billy, guitarists Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick, and bassist Greg Christian, with the addition of friend and former member, Paul Bostaph. Picking up where Testament left off at the end of the last century, Billy and company offer up some of the vintage breakneck anthems that landed them in the company of Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax. Continuing to cement their legacy as one of the finest bands thrash has to offer, Damnation’s title-track is a scorching siren of intensity and fury. See for yourself below.

In other news, the band is currently touring across North America in preparation for the album’s release. San Juan Capistrano is next up on the band’s itinerary, before a stop in Vegas and a string of Hollywood dates. Then in early May, Testament hits the road again to celebrate The Formation of Damnation.
