‘This is our decision to live fast and die young/ we’ve got the vision now let’s have some fun’ – MGMT ‘Time to Pretend’
Following the use of MGMT’s ‘Time To Pretend’ in the epoch-defining final Skins episode last week, ‘Time To Pretend’ has rocketed from 137 in the charts to number 35 and now looks set to climb the charts again this week.
As one of the best loved series in recent memory dramatically drew to a close and with so many paths uncertain for Sid, Tony, Michelle and the gang, the final scenes were emotively sound-tracked by ‘Time To Pretend’. Lyrically the song blended perfectly with the coming of age narrative and now the song is set to become a seminal anthem to the Skins generation.

MGMT’s debut album ‘Oracular Spectacular’ is out now and second single ‘Electric Feel’ is released on June 23rd on Columbia recordings. MGMT will be touring the UK in May:
