WYCHWOOD FESTIVAL

WYCHWOOD FESTIVAL

THE BEST IN UPCOMING AND UNSIGNED TALENT

Wychwood Festival 2008 is delighted to announce the line-up for the third
stage, the Wickwar stage, in full. In partnership with Halifax-based
promoters The Doghouse, Wychwood Festival will not only be showcasing the
best of local upcoming and unsigned talent but smashing down the north south
divide by bringing the best in northern talent to the festival, which takes
place from 30 May to 1 June 2008 at Cheltenham Racecourse. Hailed as the
best of the boutique festivals by the UK media, Wychwood Festival has
established itself as a truly family-friendly outdoor music festival, with
its unique blend of music, dance, arts, comedy and workshops.

In keeping with Wychwood¹s eclectic musical make-up, the Wickwar Stage
showcases everything folk, blues and country through to indie, rock and even
hip-hop. Bands from across the north of England and as far North as
Scotland, which includes The Black Bloc, Air Cav, Breaking The Illusion, The
Steals and * winners of this year¹s Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent
competition * The Travelling Band, will join a host of acts from the
festival¹s surrounding counties. The Doghouse is a monthly music night that
takes place in Halifax and began in March 2005 by founders Michael Ainsworth
and Shack. The Doghouse ethos resonates closely with those of Wychwood¹s; a
love of interesting and exciting live music, a firm belief in public service
and promotions that benefit the community including family friendly events.
Having thoroughly enjoyed Wychwood 2006 and raved about it to all his
friends, Doghouse promoter Ainsworth returned to the festival in 2007 where
he was struck by inspiration after one or two drinks in the beer tent which,
he duly noticed, was lacking any music of it¹s own. Promptly Ainsworth
offered to provide a line-up for said beer tent over the three days of
Wychwood 2008, bringing with him the best of the bands he knew from his
Doghouse nights. The full, three day Wickwar Stage line-up is as follows:

"We all have different and wide tastes in music and Doghouse puts on
anything from ska to low-fi to alt-country, folk, electronica, hip-hop and
alternative rock, often mixing styles on the same bill. The line-up we have
selected for the Wychwood stage reflects that approach with a distinctively
Northern feel as all the acts are from there² Michael Ainsworth commented on
programming the Wickwar Stage. For more information regarding The Doghouse
