MGMT release their second single, ‘Electric Feel’ on Columbia Records.
‘Electric Feel’ is the cool, sharp, vivid pop song, razor-sharp and already a live favourite and bold album highlight. It strikes up and flies through the 70s and 80s, before becoming the sound of MGMT right now.
Following on from previous single ‘Time To Pretend’, Ray Tintori is directing the new video. It promises to be another future-thinking visual masterpiece.
MGMT bring a sense of adventure back to the music world, along with personality, giving their music a feeling of being alive. MGMT are sonic magicians. Their debut album ‘Oracular Spectacular’ is colourful and fun, its fluorescent 21st century pop music, built on the sounds of the 70s but spun out as the sound of 2008.
Having already completed one sell-out European tour, appeared on Letterman in America and Later… in the UK, as well as being the stars of SXSW, 2008 shaping up to be MGMT’s year. Next up is short US tour, along with an appearance at Coachella, before heading back to the UK in May for their biggest headline tour here so far, as well as playing three dates on the MTV Spanking New Music Tour. Already confirmed for Reading/Leeds Festival in August, look out for more festival appearances to be announced soon.
