Finally! After a string of delays that pushed Men Without Pants' Naturally back and well.. back, the mind-bending collaboration between multi-platinum producer extraordinaire Dan The Automator and Blues Explosion co-founder/drummer Russell Simins has a solid release date. Yep; mark your calendars for August 19th, the day the album finally hits stores -- both digital and physical. We're psyched and so is everyone else:
“A shimmy, shakin' space-age blend of razor-slice guitars, Simins' spittle-on-the-mic vocals and DTA's surf-electro beats. This is more of a balls out rocker, really - think The Stooges meets early B-52's…” - URB Magazine
“Keep this behind glass for emergency rock ’n’ roll summer jam purposes.” - Paper Thin Walls
“A seriously rawking affair: beats, guitars, and yelps from members of the Hives, Cibo Matto, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs and more.” – Prefix Magazine
“Taking a break from rocking out with the kids in Tiny Masters of Today, Simins handles guitars, drums and vocals while Dan's on programming/electronics. Both do production. If this seems like an oddball collaboration, remember Dan produced Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's Acme. Plus, both like the funk.” – Stereogum
Expanded to include more tracks than originally reported (hence the delays), Naturally features recently recorded gems My Balloon, I Like The Way It Feels, Already Bored & the acoustic Goodbye. Guest work from Nick Zinner (The Yeah Yeah Yeahs), chanteuse Gillian Rivers (vocals, violin, piano & pump organ), Sean Lennon, Cibo Mato and Sammy James, Jr. (The Mooney Suzuki) abounds, plus a few surprises we can’t yet mention here. The latest piece of free music-goes-commando is the rambunctious "Double Life," one of the most energetic cuts from all of Naturally. Hear below.
