Altsounds - Kyle Gass talks to Billboard About Slowing Down and Whoring Out

Kyle Gass sat down with Billboard Magazine to talk about what he's up to... but I am not entirely sure why. In the piece, Gass talks about how Tenacious D is working on a new project, but are having a hard time coming up with new ideas. While they need a full album's worth of material, they are currently sitting at 1 and a half songs, unsure about their next move. He confesses this will probably be a farewell album and says the love for the D is dwindling. And while they wrestle to create the epic masterpiece that will solidify their place in history, Gass is hitting music festivals pimping for General Motors.

This article left me feeling sorry for the guy, and sadly reflecting on when that first Tenacious D album dropped. They had a small cult following from their HBO show, but EVERYONE had that CD. It provided laughs over and over again and is considered a modern classic. If you don't have Tenacious D, you have an incomplete music collection. But the Pick of Destiny was a hunk of crap and I didn't realize it had been so long since the D made me laugh. I hope they really do write the masterpiece...but even more so, I hope Kyle Gass can get work that doesn't include shilling for the man.
