Following on the heels of the widely adored “You Were Too Old For Me,” Detroit-based indie pop crew PAS/CAL has premiered a second track from their highly-anticipated full-length debut, I Was Raised On Matthew, Mark, Luke and Laura. The new song, “Glorious Ballad of the Ignored,” was introduced to the world via Stereogum’s weekly Gum Drop newsletter. And as if new music wasn’t enough, P/C head honcho Casmir Pascal submitted to a handful of questions about the track.

Slated for a July 22nd release via Le Grand Magistery, the album makes good on the promise of a string of EPs dating back to 2002. But fans planning to snag the band’s long-awaited long-player digitally don’t have to wait until then. Indeed, starting on July 15th, PAS/CAL will offer up I Was Raised… exclusively at iTunes.
What The Press Is Saying About PAS/CAL:
“While many indie poppers stroll down the dead ends of traditionalism, aiming to either soothe the bruised souls of bedsit lonelyhearts or put the skip in your step with unabashed summery hooks, PAS/CAL manages to do a bit of both with panache and intelligence to spare.” – Pitchfork
“Elegant '60s-via-E6-inflected pop with a tad Dan Bejar to its lit.” - Stereogum
“This summer, as you search for that pop organ, handclap inducing sound, remember the boys in PAS/CAL.” – The Tripwire
"But the real treat is that [Casimer]Pascal has finally bit the bullet and positioned himself as I Was Raised’s main protagonist, constantly name checking himself (as Cas or Craig, for the most part) amidst a flurry of high-brow melodies, odd happenings, fistfights, little red radios, and an elusive beauty named Cherry (the 3-song “Cherry Suite” is an album highlight). The payoff is that all of these whip-smart lyrics, stories, and personal accounts are held up by a crack band of skilled players, whose buzzing organs, 60s mod-guitars, climbing strings, dynamic drumming, and perfectly plonky basslines bring that nostalgic feeling full circle." - Detour-mag.com
