Love Music Hate Racism!
In conjunction with Love Music Hate Racism-LMHR, Filton High School (Bristol) pupils will celebrate the end of a two week project on Identity and Cultural Diversity on Friday 18 July at 2pm. Get cape. Wear cape. Fly, who recently played at Glastonbury, will be joined by hip hop artist Bashie to conclude the project.
Anna Brooman, an English teacher at FHS and one of the organisers of the project said:"We are grateful to LMHR and the artists for supporting this work.We have had an excellent two weeks celebrating the multi cultural and diverse community that is Filton High School."
Pupils in Year 9 have been working on a themed learning project in which each subject has been looking at the issue of cultural diversity.
On Monday Weyman Bennett and Martin Smith of LMHR led workshops at the school on music and migration. Coaches from Bristol Rugby Football club also led workshops on racism and leadership in sport.
