The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum welcomed lucky visitor number 7,000,000
Aryes family traveled from Connecticut; boys insisted parents needed to finally make the trip

CLEVELAND (July 17, 2008) - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum this morning welcomed the Museum’s 7,000,000 winner, Barbara Ayres from Warren, Connecticut. Barbara was with her family: husband George and sons Jake (age 15) and Grant (age 13).

A cascade of 500 multi-colored balloons began to fall immediately after Barbara purchased her admission ticket, and a puzzled but smiling Ayres family wondered out loud “What’s going on?!” As soon as they found out that she was the lucky winner she immediately turned and smiled at her sons.

“It was the boys who convinced us to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this road trip,” said Barbara Ayres. “We’ve traveled across the country several times and this time, we decided we had to stop to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.”

Jake and Grant are budding high school musicians. Jake is a guitarist who likes Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. Grant is a drummer who was looking forward to “check out just about everything” in the Museum. The boys were visibly excited about the surprising start of their visit, especially Jake, who had the honor of opening the case of the Les Paul Custom Ebony Guitar provided by Gibson. “I never thought I would even get to hold one of these.”

The family then headed to the Alan Freed/SIRIUS radio studio on the Museum's 5th floor for an interview with radio personality Dusty Street where the Ayres family got to tell their story to the nation.

As the family began their tour of the Rock Hall Barbara admitted with a wink, “I think we’ll be listening to what the boys would like for us to do as a family a bit more often.”

The Aryes family’s rock and roll prize package includes:

· Lifetime membership to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
· A pair of tickets anywhere Continental flies in the United States
· A Les Paul Custom Ebony Guitar provided by Gibson
· A Sportster 5 Satellite Radio with a free 3-month subscription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio.
· A Guitar Hero Aerosmith Bundle
· A pair of tickets to see Mamma Mia at Cleveland's PlayhouseSquare
· Lunch at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum from Executive Caterers
· Dinner at the Hard Rock Café in downtown Cleveland

The Ayres family is on their way to Iowa for a 470 mile seven-day bicycle trip across the state. They will bike along with 10,000 other riders to benefit charities. Afterward, Barbara plans to use the plane tickets for a beach vacation.

The Rock Hall has an annual economic impact of $107 million in Northeast Ohio, with hundreds of thousands of visitors coming from all 50 states and 100 countries to experience the Museum.
