Live From Abbey Road, the Sundance original music series, reaches its halfway point in episode 6 of the twelve part series. The episode begins by featuring British self-described "Odd Pop" band, The Hoosiers. After recording their first album, The Trick To Life and securing two top ten hits on the UK charts, The Hoosiers are currently touring. They stop by the legendary recording studio Abbey Road to perform their hits "Goodbye Mr. A" and "Run Rabbit Run" off of their debut album along with Billy Joel's classic hit "We Didn't Start the Fire".
Blues-rock duo The Black Keys will also grace the studio, after achieving recent success by charting top 20 in both the UK and US charts for their latest album. Originally from Ohio, they have come a long way since their conception in 2001, now being featured on MTV and preparing their Fall tour promoting their most recent release Attack and Release produced by Danger Mouse. They will be performing "I Got Mine" from their 2008 album along with "Here I Am I Always Am" and "Same Old Thing".
Wrapping up the episode is one of the top-selling artists in the world, singer and political activist Manu Chao. Chao's lyrics, sung in French, Spanish, and many other languages addresses issues such as poverty, immigration, and love. He will be performing "Bongo Bong/Mr. Bobby" from his debut solo album Clandestino, "Bienvenido a Tijuana", and "Politik Kills/Rainin in Paradise" from his most recent album, La Radiolina.
