Following the release of their 2005 self-titled sophomore album, Wintersleep spent months on the road touring through Canada, America and Europe. Upon return to their native Halifax, the band called upon veteran producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian and Super Furry Animals), and retreated to the studio for April and May of 2007.
Welcome to the Night Sky reaches radical new territory for the band, and many Canadian critics have already hailed its ‘album of the year’ potential. Wintersleep will be playing US dates with Wolf Parade for the next few weeks, as well as some Canadian festival dates.
