Shortwave Fade are one of the very first bands to have gained success with Slice The Pie. Having won a showcase, beating off competition from 1,000 other acts, the band received support from members of the music buying public to the tune of £15,000, representing a significant consumer base for an unsigned act. This support has enabled the band to produce their debut album ‘Deletia’, which will be released later this year.

‘Leave’ is the first single to be taken from the forthcoming album, which was recorded with Gavin Monaghan (The Smiths, Kings of Leon, Editors, Jesus and Mary Chain), who was chosen from a list of top-drawer producers keen to work with the band. The result is a set of songs that swings between epic and anthemic, between intriguingly complex and instantly catchy.

Before their Slice The Pie success, Shortwave Fade were creating a growing buzz in their own right. Their live performances, which have included tour supports with the likes of Keane and The Subways, have been met with ever-increasing enthusiasm, as was their debut single on Oxford-based Shifty Disco (The Young Knives, Plan B, Anton Barbeau). With a quality record already under their belts, Shortwave Fade look set to become one of this year’s most vital bands.
