The kings of electro-rock have delivered on the expectations set by their debut a few years back with their sophomore effort Apocalypso. In equal parts menacing and enticing, darkly mysterious and compulsively fun, the Presets have a developed an individual style already being emulated around Australia and around the world. Says triple j Music Director Richard Kingsmill, 'The Presets album is set to be one of the landmark Australian albums of '08. "My People" pointed towards an exciting second album might be coming, but the duo have exceeded those expectations. It's one of the darkest party records of all time.'
Over 4 months in the Australian Top 10.
Nominated for Australian album of the year for the J Awards 2008:
Most highly attended act at this year's Splendour in The Grass (in Byron Bay, Australia) last weekend.
Some footage here from the weekend:
From the Triple J Website:
"The Presets closed the Mix Up stage with perhaps the set of the festival. The huge popularity they're experiencing was reflected in the crowd. The tent was big, the crowd was bigger. The hands in the air during "My People" seemed never ending. Everyone was there for the sense of unity. This will be a moment people will talk about for years to come."
