Amy Ray Chats With After Ellen, Queerty, Unveils Housing Works Performance On Amy Ray

Atlanta-based songwriter Amy Ray —who you’ll likely recognize as the spirited, punk-weaned half of the Indigo Girls— released her third solo record, Didn’t It Feel Kinder, to some lofty praise last week. Recorded with the aid of Greg Griffith (The Butchies, Le Tigre), and featuring contributions from Kaia Wilson, Melissa York, Madonna-collaborator Tomi Martin, Brandi Carlile and the indie.country boys of Arizona, the album is Ray’s most engaging and dynamic work yet. In other news, Ray celebrated the release of Didn’t It Feel Kinder last week with an intimate performance at Housing Works in NYC. But if you weren’t lucky enough to be there, her recently-launched online TV station, Amy Ray TV, is currently playing host to clips of the performance. More will be uploaded throughout the week. In addition to offering exclusive performance footage, on Tuesday Ray finished an ambitious one-song-a-day performance series of every track on Didn’t It Feel Kinder.
