London show upgraded due to phenomenal popular demand!
New Jersey natives, The Gaslight Anthem have upgraded their London show from The Barfly to ULU due to unprecedented public demand. All original tickets for the Barfly remain valid. Tickets can be purchased from the usual outlets (stargreen/gigantic.com/seetickets/ticketmaster) priced at £8.00. The Kerrang! cover stars will be in the UK for a string of headline shows as well as performing on the Lock Up stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
In the last two years The Gaslight Anthem have accomplished more than most bands have in 10. Their sole full-length to date (2007's SINK OR SWIM on XOXO Records), was mentioned on dozens of 2007's year-end "Best Of" lists, thanks to 12 tracks that radiated a striking authenticity while showcasing the band's vibrant rock n roll heart and poignant blues-inflected lyricism.
The Gaslight Anthem also played over 200 shows in 2007 in the US and Europe with some of the biggest names in the punk scene, including Against Me!, The Loved Ones and The Draft. In the process, a rare level of excitement was generated around the band...thanks in great part to their exuberant performances, passionate and rapidly multiplying fans and songs that distilled the essence of Springsteen, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, The Clash and Tom Waits into a distinctive sound that is unmistakably Gaslight's very own.
Avid interest in the band has only increased since the start of this year, when the band released their EP, SENOR AND THE QUEEN (Sabot Productions), to widespread acclaim. Prolific beyond their years, Gaslight has just finished up their next full length, THE '59 SOUND, for SideOneDummy Record.
Set for release on August 18th, THE '59 SOUND was produced by Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly, Bouncing Souls, Street Dogs) and captures the band taking a striking step forward as musicians and songwriters. The result, essentially the punk rock BORN TO RUN The Boss never made, seems poised to both gratify and astound loyal longtime fans and new listeners alike.
