Embrace The Curse out June 24, 2008 on Glassnote Records
NEW YORK, NY (April 10, 2008) – The Orange County quartet I HATE KATE have announced they will be releasing their Glassnote Records debut, aptly titled Embrace The Curse, on June 24th.
The twelve rock gems on Embrace The Curse were recorded with veteran producer Linus of Hollywood and platinum producer Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, Sugarcult), and reflect singer/guitarist Justin Mauriello’s life lessons and personal mantras.
Mauriello began penning tunes for a side project and creative outlet in 2004, and when he parted ways with his previous band, Zebrahead, I Hate Kate was fully realized. The band name reflects his dislike for a friend’s then-girlfriend (named Kate), with Mauriello admitting “she was the most evil, vile and soulless woman I ever met in my life.” The name began as an inside joke, but as the band began to build momentum, it stuck.
Since forming, Mauriello and band mates Jeremy Berghorst (guitar) and Scott Hayden (bass) have shared the stage with |

Musician and author Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. was recently honored at Covenant House California’s 9th annual Awards Gala held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The highlight of the evening was a check presentation of $250,000 to Covenant House by honoree Nikki Sixx. Sixx is donating a portion of proceeds from his New York Times best-selling book The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star to benefit Running Wild In The Night, a creative arts program he created for Covenant House California at their youth shelters in Los Angeles and Oakland. This summer, Sixx will make stops in the U.S. and Canada, performing with both of his bands, Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. as a part of Crüe Fest, also featuring performances by Buckcherry, Papa Roach, and Trapt.

The Metros and Toddla T ft. Trigganom ‘The Clubhouse Riddim’ - Free download out on July 14th
A journalist’s dream, a chance to coin the name of a new genre. The new wave of new wave, grindie, slapcore, krautstep, new rave, whatever. The Clubhouse Riddim is the result of a mutual love of two of 1965's stable.
On paper an indie band from Peckham and a bashment producer from Sheffield wouldn't appear the happiest bedfellows but the track shows that The Metros listened to the sound of the South London streets that they grew up on and that Toddla was doing the same in the steel city.
The Metros have been touring the length of the UK in support of their first two singles, leaving a trail of happy punters in their wake. Toddla has been Djing all over the shop, has produced 3 tracks on the new album by Roots Manuva and remixed Hot Chip and Jack Penate to name just two.
Featuring long time Toddla MC, Trigganom, the tune comes on with all the bouncy, bashy vibes you'd expect from a Toddla T production and is complimented by a strong dose of The Metros corblimey funk.

Light in the Attic Records is proud to announce that the new Black Angels "Directions to See a Ghost" is out today!!
"The Black Angels bring the aura of mid-1966 -- the drilling guitars of early Velvet Underground shows, the raga inflections of late-show Fillmore jams, the acid-prayer-stomp of Austin Avatars, the 13th Floor Elevators, everywhere they go, including the levitations on their second album, 'Directions to See a Ghost.'"
-David Fricke "Rolling Stone"

CARNEY'S DEBUT EP 'NOTHING WITHOUT YOU' IN STORES NOW!
EMBARK ON NATIONAL TOUR AND PERFORM AT BONNAROO 2008
The indie DASLabel has recently announced the release of 'Nothing Without You', the debut EP from Carney. The release coincides with the beginning of a 30+ date tour culminating with Carney’s performance at this year’s Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival in Manchester, TN.
The Los Angeles four-piece is fronted by Reeve Carney, lead vocals & guitar, and Zane Carney on lead guitar, along with John David Lipscomb on bass and Jon Epcar on drums.
The story of the band starts in earnest in 1997, when Reeve's mother, after becoming unable to afford guitar lessons, started bringing Reeve to an old Los Angeles blues club where he started playing weekly with artists over twice his age. The experience brought a maturity and worldview not often found in such a young songwriter. Reeve soon began playing with his brother Zane and friends from school. As the band grew older and Carney's sou |

A Small Breath was recorded by students at Drexel University in January and February as part of an engineering course. Bravo, higher education! These three songs sound amazing, continuing the tradition of beautifully-clashing aesthetics established on Brass'Set & Drift. Both releases masterfully establish a common ground between soaring melodies, heart-stopping crescendos and math-y, post-punk rhythms. A must-listen for fans of The Dismemberment Plan, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbox or Circa Survive. recent eight-song debut,

The latest single "Pork and Beans" produced by Jacknife Lee (U2, R.E.M.) has been embraced by Modern Rock radio making it the quickest journey to #1 that any Weezer single has found in its illustrious history. The single has earned rave reviews in the UK's NME and Rolling Stone.
The new album which is the third eponymous in the band's catalogue and is being referred as "The Red Album," was produced by the band, Rick Rubin, and the aforementioned Lee. |

"Hello there everybody. Greetings from the land of Cartel. We were hoping that the next news post we brought you would be full of good news but, unfortunately, it is not. We are forced to cancel our trip to the UK next month. It sucks. All our UK peeps will probably be mad but, we're in the middle of re-scheduling so that we can hopefully get back over there later this year. We had a great time with Plain White T's and Boys Like Girls. Can't wait to give it another shot at headlining the UK. Who knows....maybe we'll have some new material to jam this time.
As for our stateside fans, we had a great time on our college/mini-tour. We hope you all got to come and hang with us before we hit the studio for some new tracks. We're looking forward to getting back out there and rockin' face again soon. Until then, stay tuned for some exciting things coming up. (I know we've said this for a while but trust me it's coming.)"
Take care everyone...
