Good news for all Chromeo fans on the east coast:
MySpace, the world’s premier social network, today announced a series of East Coast headlining tour dates featuring Chromeo the two-stepping Montreal/New York-based duo.
After playing every major North American festival this summer to rave reviews (including Coachella, Pemberton, Lollapalooza, All Points West, and Virgin Mobile), selling out a string of high profile headlining shows on the West Coast, Chromeo have set their sights on the East Coast to further their world conquest of love, funk, and vocoder. Presented by MySpace Music, the tour begins October 1st in Boston, MA and finishes October 4th in Washington, DC.

The new video for "Tape Your Head" comes off of Brooklyn, NY transplant Tim Williams' heralded 2007 release, When Work Is Done (Dovecote Records), recently featured on the CW's One Tree Hill. The video was shot entirely in Detroit, MI and was directed by production team Hott Garbage. If you look closely, you might be able to spot a certain Jon Visger of Mason Proper making a guest appearance.

Unfortunately, the weather was not on their side as a hail storm halted the filming of the original video treatment. Having to work quick on their feet, the team chose alternatives on the spot. Welsh rockers FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND release the second single from their eagerly anticipated fourth album ('Memory And Humanity') on Sept 29 2008.
Entitled 'Kicking And Screaming' it will be available via their label, Join Us Records.
Following on from the smash hit 'Waterfront Dance Club / Beneath The Burning Tree' double A side single, 'Kicking And Screaming' is a truly infectious slab of melody, expertly melded to a groove as big as a canyon! Written about the experiences of growing up in the valleys of South Wales, it is one of the most autobiographical and heartfelt songs in Funeral For A Friend's formidable arsenal.
"I remember myself and Matt knocking down a rough instrumental version of this track on a day off in Germany," explains drummer Ryan Richards. "It was only really a couple of riffs, a sampled beat and the synth in the chorus, but even then there was a wealth of melody going on. It's basically a pop song played loud, hard and turned up to 11."

Long-running, long-named indie outfit Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start will be playing their last show ever tomorrow night at The Auction House in Audubon, NJ.
For all you wimps and sensitive types - or for that matter, anyone who can't make it to Saturday's festivities - the band will also be playing an acoustic pre-last-show show tonight at Tunes in Marlton, NJ.

Arizona's Greeley Estates has been slaying audiences all summer on the Hurley Stage at the Vans Warped Tour and it looks as if the mayhem will continue on through the fall as the band has announced a run with August Burns Red and A Skylit Drive.

Say Hello to Dead Confederate
There's a new breed of dark, raw, mind-blowing psych-rock crawling from the South, and its name is Dead Confederate. The Georgia group conjured the haunting sound of their debut full-length album WRECKING BALL the old-fashioned way: by making it in the tiny concrete box of a studio in Austin, Texas, where the sound effects for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre were recorded. "We're kind of like a Jackson Pollock painting," explains singer/guitarist Hardy Morris, 28. "Brutally honest. There isn't some big twist or turn, it just lays it all out there. Watch Ed Harcourt's beautiful new video for the track "Until Tomorrow Then" off his latest album, The Beautiful Lie on Dovecote Records. The video was shot in Las Vegas with director Piper Ferguson. Currently, Ed is back in London feverishly working on writing the score to the Donnie Darko sequel S. Darko.
"Ed has been a friend of mine since 2002 when I photographed him at SXSW. Ed told me "Until Tomorrow Then" is about writing the song as the world is coming to an end and a couple are dying as they write it. To me that's a very romantic, psychedelic ending to a relationship, which is hopefully portrayed in a charming way in this video. Fujiya & Miyagi Announce US Fall Tour
Sophomore LP "Lightbulbs" To Be Released September 16th On Deaf, Dumb + Blind Recordings
Imagine that Fujiya & Miyagi are mask-wearing technicians dissecting music, keen to magnify particles of sound to create a pulsing antidote to the ordinary. They speak in tongues, using language as a rhythm, picking words that sound good, rhyming 'jigsaws' with 'carnivores'.
Their songs are incisive snapshots of real lives that make household appliances sound threatening. They are steeped in vintage music from evocative krautrock to deep soul, with wafts of early Human League synth, Floydian Englishness and the throbbing groove of Tom Tom Club, all filtered for modern times.
In total, Fujiya & Miyagi don't really sound like anything. Instead, they sound like everything condensed into perfectly arranged three minute chunks of infectious pop music, a strange hybrid of James Brown on Valium and Wire gone pop. Or maybe Serge Gainsbourg with a PhD
