Watch Ed Harcourt's beautiful new video for the track "Until Tomorrow Then" off his latest album, The Beautiful Lie on Dovecote Records. The video was shot in Las Vegas with director Piper Ferguson. Currently, Ed is back in London feverishly working on writing the score to the Donnie Darko sequel S. Darko.
"Ed has been a friend of mine since 2002 when I photographed him at SXSW. Ed told me "Until Tomorrow Then" is about writing the song as the world is coming to an end and a couple are dying as they write it. To me that's a very romantic, psychedelic ending to a relationship, which is hopefully portrayed in a charming way in this video. Then Ed said he wanted to do the video in Las Vegas in the middle of July..." - Piper Ferguson (director)

Fujiya & Miyagi Announce US Fall Tour
Sophomore LP "Lightbulbs" To Be Released September 16th On Deaf, Dumb + Blind Recordings
Imagine that Fujiya & Miyagi are mask-wearing technicians dissecting music, keen to magnify particles of sound to create a pulsing antidote to the ordinary. They speak in tongues, using language as a rhythm, picking words that sound good, rhyming 'jigsaws' with 'carnivores'.
Their songs are incisive snapshots of real lives that make household appliances sound threatening. They are steeped in vintage music from evocative krautrock to deep soul, with wafts of early Human League synth, Floydian Englishness and the throbbing groove of Tom Tom Club, all filtered for modern times.
In total, Fujiya & Miyagi don't really sound like anything. Instead, they sound like everything condensed into perfectly arranged three minute chunks of infectious pop music, a strange hybrid of James Brown on Valium and Wire gone pop. Or maybe Serge Gainsbourg with a PhD |

My personal favourite is of his cover of Sing by Travis
In a legendary music career that spans more than five decades, Glen Campbell has achieved chart-topping, platinum-selling pop and country success singing everyday tales of life, love, work and heartache. For Meet Glen Campbell, his inspired, dynamic new studio album, the music icon has returned to his longtime label home, Capitol Records. Meet Glen Campbell will be released on August 19 on CD, limited edition vinyl and digitally.
The songs on the album all strike a personal and musical chord with Campbell. He has reinterpreted and re-imagined both older and contemporary songs with his own signature vocal and guitar arrangements. A true musician’s musician, Campbell’s distinct guitar playing, along with the clarity and emotion of his powerful vocal performance, come together to give new life to the songs he selected for Meet Glen Campbell.

DEBUT ALBUM ENTERS TOP 200 ALBUM CHART
The Airborne Toxic Event's eponymous debut album on indie label Majordomo Records reached #7 on Billboard's Heatseekers upon its first week of release. With five radio stations in their hometown of Los Angeles currently banging their first single "Sometime Around Midnight;" and with another song, "Gasoline," featured on NBC promos for the Olympics; plus a rousing performance on Conan O'Brien, a sold out show at LA's El Rey and finally add to it a cover story in this past Saturday's Los Angeles Times one can see how the new band found itself not only being a top ten Heatseeker, but entering the Trade Magazine's Top 200 with a #188 debut.
The band who was recently named "Artist Of The Day" by Spin.com has even better days to come. This Thursday they will be guests on KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show, and starting September 1 in Cleveland the band will be the main support for the Fratellis.

New Dear and the Headlights MP3: "Talk About"
Quick-tongued frontman Ian Metzger details the birth of the nerve-racking, crashing pop tune off the Phoenix, AZ-based quintet's forthcoming sophomore set, Drunk Like Bible Times.
When "Talk About," a track off Dear and the Headlights' sophomore set Drunk Like Bible Times (out Sept. 30 via Equal Vision), landed in our inbox a few weeks ago, it was as if we'd been hit by an anvil dropped from atop the Empire State Building. And with its wall of swirling, crashing guitars intertwined with steam-engine keys and, notably, frontman Ian Metzger's ballooning diatribes on domestic violence, AA meetings, and sensory overload, the track begged further investigation.

AOL Spinner is proud to present the EXCLUSIVE premiere of Juliana Hatfield's "This Lonely Love" music video. “This Lonely Love,” the album’s lead single, features Richard Butler (The Psychedelic Furs) on vocals and is a song that conveys music's remarkable ability to provide attachment and comfort. "So with the video I wanted to show myself as all alone, with only music as my companion."
Juliana Hatfield will celebrate the release of "How To Walk Away" – her 10th solo album in a remarkable 20-year-career with a performance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on August 25th and a U.S. tour. "How To Walk Away," produced by Andy Chase ( |
THE WALKMEN’S NEW ALBUM ‘YOU & ME’ - RELEASED 29th SEPTEMBER
Set for release on September 29th, 'You & Me' is The Walkmen’s fourth album and their first on Fierce Panda. Hailing from New York City, the band consists of Hamilton Leithauser (vocals/guitar), Paul Maroon (guitar/piano), Walter Martin (organ/bass), Matt Barrick (drums) and Peter Bauer (bass/organ).
The Walkmen are of course men of stealth and craft, dressed in black and, one wagers, distressed at the lack of loving care and attention applied to modern music. Eight years since the mighty 'We've Been Had' signalled the demise of Jonathan Fire*Eater and heralded the start of something even weirder, 'You & Me' finds the enigmatic quintet in predictably moody form with fourteen tracks of fearsome ingenuity featuring their trademark clanging guitar, their spooked keyboards making like a gothic ice cream van on Mars, their drums rolling like a schooner in a force ten gale. Lead-off UK single 'The Blue Route' sets the unsettled mood perfectly with the bruised, mournful voice |

Live From Abbey Road
Thursdays at 10:00pm EST
Episode 9 Premieres Thursday, August 14
The acclaimed Sundance series, Live From Abbey Road continues to feature performances and interviews with popular musicians but adds a cultural twist to episode 9. Kicking off the episode is rock duo, The Kills performing songs from their latest album, Midnight Boom. Vocalist, Alison Mosshart and guitarist, Jamie Hince combine their backgrounds to create an electronic groove with their first song, "Getting Down." The set continues with "Last Day of Magic," a song written by Hince during a time of loneliness and heartbreak. To wrap it up, the post-punk band says goodnight and reflects quietly on each other's love with "Goodnight Bad Morning." Each song highlights the use of the piano, drums and guitar in a more melancholy manner to give off that subdued, gentle sound founded by their British roots.

BLG’s Self-Titled Debut Album Is Out Now
Boston 4-piece Boys Like Girls is returning to the UK this October after stellar performances at this year’s Slam Dunk Festival and on their co-headline UK tour with Cute Is What We Aim For. This time, Boys Like Girls will be main support to Fall Out Boy on their three upcoming UK arena shows. These will see the band heading to Birmingham, Glasgow and London.
After years of playing in various bands throughout high school, Martin Johnson (lead vocals), Bryan Donahue (bass) and John Keefe (drums) solidified the BLG line-up with Paul DiGiovanni (lead guitar). They then posted demos online and an early version of The Great Escape and an acoustic spin on Thunder were the sparks that ignited a firestorm of attention on the band's MySpace and Purevolume pages.
Amongst those paying close attention were booking agent Matt Galle (Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance) and producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco) who felt Boys Like Girls' demos were something special. They contacted t | |
