The Arusha Accord release the ‘Nightmares Of The Ocean’ EP on Monday 14th July 2008, through Basick Records.
Nearly four years ago, at the beginning of 2005, the six-headed monster now known as The Arusha Accord began work on a musical project. Despite having no solid blueprint, the band drew its initial inspiration from the likes of Sikth, Dillinger Escape Plan and Tool, in particular the chaotic variations, speed and complex time signatures that each had to offer respectively.
Two years later, in the November of 2007, their project came of age and broke out into the UK’s flourishing metal scene. In doing so, the band caused a stir worthy of even the most highly rated foreign import.
Rising UK independent label, Basick Records, home to fellow UK metallers Fell Silent, were suitably impressed and immediately offered the band a deal. London show upgraded due to phenomenal popular demand!
New Jersey natives, The Gaslight Anthem have upgraded their London show from The Barfly to ULU due to unprecedented public demand. All original tickets for the Barfly remain valid. Tickets can be purchased from the usual outlets (stargreen/gigantic.com/seetickets/ticketmaster) priced at £8.00. The Kerrang! cover stars will be in the UK for a string of headline shows as well as performing on the Lock Up stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. Formed in Phoenix, AZ, in 2006, The Medic Droid consist of three musicians who swap duties, taking turns programming beats, playing guitar, and playing synthesizer. Led by vocalist Chris Donathon, the group fuses techno and emo to make commercially viable club music that could easily be passed off as Fall Out Boy with a vocoder and a copy of Reason. On September 2nd, Australia's The Drones will release the digital version of their limited edition picture disc, "The Minotaur + A Brief Retrospective" via ATP Recordings. The EP includes a selection of tracks from their Australian Music Prize Award nominated Gala Mill (2006) and AMP Award winning LP Wait Long By The River And The Bodies Of Your Enemies Will Float By (2005). Also featured is "The Minotaur", a song that will find itself on the band's highly anticipated fourth studio album, Havilah (releasing early 2009).
Recorded in a mud brick house somewhere in the mountains outside of Myrtleford, Victoria, "The Minotaur" is a lusty and brutal blitz, that over three and a half minutes, manages to draw the historical line between ancient Greek mythology and current-day time-wasting.
The Drones will be touring the US throughout August and September including All Tomorrow's Parties New York with My Bloody Valentine, Shellac and Built to Spill.

Drowning Pool's new music video, "37 Stitches" recently premiered on AOL Music and now we can showcase it on Altsounds.com.
The live segments of "37 Stitches" were shot at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, Texas. The rest of the video was also shot in Dallas as lead singer Ryan McCombs shot his vignette at Reno's Bar & Grill, drummer Mike Luce's vignette was shot at Elm Street Tattoo and finally, guitarist C.J. Pierce and bassist Stevie Benton shot their vignettes at their homes with their wives.
Another interesting note about the video is that the older couple featured in the clip are the parents of Dave Williams, Jo and Charlie Williams. Dave was of course the original lead singer of Drowning Pool who unexpectedly passed away in 2002 from a rare heart disease called cardiomyopathy of the left ventricle.
