Levellers - Before The End [Single]

‘Before the End’ is a pretty sweet song. It’s got a nice melody and a wide variation of instruments. One being a didgeridoo! It’s cool to see a band use a lot of different instruments in each song. There are not many bands that can do that nowadays without making it sound messy. I wonder if Levellers would be able to pull this off live? I’d like to think they could. One instrument I would’ve liked to have heard in this song is a fiddle. Not a violin, but an Irish fiddle. Just to give it that extra folk feeling about it. There’s no harm in sounding Irish and coming from Brighton. Is there?
The B-Side track ‘TV Suicides’ is nowhere near as good as ‘Before the End’. It doesn’t have that drive and variation that ‘Before the End’ has. I think they made the right choice in making this a B-Side anyway.
All in all Levellers have done a good job with this single. I just hope their album is as good as their release track.
