To be honest like many people I know I’m getting sick of the same old unimaginative pop bollocks being churned out week after week by bands and labels with no concern for the music lovers. Listening to ‘Killec’ might not be a solution to all your woes, but it is defiantly a step in the right direction. The songs are imaginative and the arrangements are diverse and intricate. The four members of ‘Marvins Revolt’ are obviously fairly accomplished songwriters and musicians. The tracks on ‘Killec’ sound like they have come about through a series of jams with everyone contributing rather than a sit down and write session.

‘Killec’ is full of riffs and starts out with ‘Deliberate Deeds’, probably my favorite track and a track which can be downloaded FREE from the ‘Marvins Revolt’ website. If you like the track then I would strongly recommend you source yourself a copy of ‘Killec’. You can expect more of the same.

With ‘Add.Edit.Kill’ being the almost compulsory slow track in the middle you get a very well produced and imaginative little album. Even ‘Add.Edit.Kill’ isn’t your average slowey. The arpeggiated guitar is very folkey, and with the introduction of some really nicely recorded claps ‘Add.Edit.Kill’ becomes the perfect chilled out moment for the middle of ‘Killec’.

As I write this review with ‘Killec’ playing in my headphones I have to admit it continues to grow on me, to the point of me needing to go back and delete earlier negative comments. This will definitely be going into my car collection for more long term listening and I would recommend it to any fans of ‘At The Drive In’, ‘Aerogram’ or similar outfits.
