The album art of this self titled debut album by Innerpartysystem leaves a lot to be desired. Not exactly a good start as far as they go. Innerpartsystem sounds like something that should be crazy and exiting and the most exiting thing about this album art work is the FBI anti piracy warning.

'Die Tonight Live Forever' sounds suitably emo for a song name, although this is misleading, so far this band have pendulum-esque, dance, trance, rock down to a tee. The refrain 'we're all here cause we've lost control' is repeated so many times I actually start to believe it.

'Last Night in Brooklyn' follows, the start is pretty epic as far as this genre of music goes, moving towards the Metro Station ball park with breathy vocals and a prominent drum beat, its another winner.

'Don't Stop' is another good track, although it is becoming a bit monotonous in the best possible way, a bit samey but not offensively so.. yet.

'Structure' is pretty wow. the lyrics for a start are just thoughtful and engaging this is the one thing that INNERPARTYSYSTEM bring to the table that bands such as Pendulum or Limp Bizkit to which they have been compared, lyric presence and quality, it makes for a much more interesting record.

'Everyone' is the same again. Lyrically this song is impressive, but i am getting a but bit bored of the computer noises.

'Obsession' proves that sometimes you just have to persevere, and it manages to rescue me from the brink of boredom. The start is more inventive and interesting than some of the previous songs and the vocals have woken up again.

'This Empty Love'.. lets just forget this one. Lyrics = Good. Music = Boring

'New Poetry' this song is to slow for me, but there is some cool guitar that kicks in after a bit.

'This Town' wait for it.. build up, build up, build up but nothing really happens. I have to wait until 2.10 for something to happen. Oh wait!! some shouting/screaming. Wow, this is a turn up for the books at last, it only lasts about 27 seconds. Better than nothing I guess.

'Heart of Fire' - finally I think it has picked up, Heart of Fire is more energetic than the majority of the tracks. A bit more of a beat, a bit more guitar presence and the vocals are more dominant.

Innerpartysystem's last chance to impress with 'What We Will Never Know'. So far 0.29, it doesn't look good, never end on a slow track! |It's depressing.

Hang on, bonus track time. Or is there just going to be endless rumbling? Patience is a virtue, so they say. and nothing. 2.53 minute of my life wasted with rumbling and digital beeps. Inventive.

Overall 'Innerpartysystem' is okay. It's not terrible, but it's also not brilliant. Its' the kind of album where you get to track 5/6 and get bored. If you want to check Innerpartysytem out start with 'Last night in Brooklyn', it's a winner! Innerpartysystem are an acquired taste, in my opinion.

I disagree with this! I have been digging on this album over the last few weeks and I like that it is different sounding (ish) to other stuff out there at the moment. I would advise you go and see these guys live though as it is a different beast than their record. EVERYTHING you hear on this album down to the granular synthesized vocals is done live and you find yourself watching the sound engineer A LOT due to how amazing a job he does. I also like the fact they love and use technology like their acoustic performance where they used IPODS to make the beats.

I would give this album myself a 70%.

(ish) being the key word maybe?
they do come across as a band to see live to get the full effect.
and i do like a couple of their songs, but i guess they're just not for me.
i would however, like to witness this ipod foolery you mentioned. it sounds intriguing.
