| ChellbopzzPhotography | December 10, 2008 06:30 PM | Paper The Operator - Solemn Boyz [EP] I am impressed by Paper the Operator. The four-piece from New York have put out an interesting and varied EP with "Solemn Boyz". There is not one song on the "Solemn Boyz" EP that I can honestly say I dislike. My personal favourite track is 'All That I Baked'. A staggering 54 words make up the whole song but it comes across as thoughtful, deep and fun, rather than a mild case of writers block.
The title track: 'Solemn Boyz' is also really cool. Kicking the whole thing off with a muffled little punk/pop bang. There is a lot of melody in 'Solemn Boyz', but at the same time it is the most 'rock' song on the EP.
Paper The Operator have catchy chorus melodies and guitar solo's all over this EP which makes it nigh on impossible to dislike in my opinion. Paper The Operator manage to marry acoustic and heavier, electric guitars perfectly. These guys are definitely going on my "one to watch" list as after listening to the entire "Solemn Boyz" EP with all these sweet tunes it's caught my attention hook, line and sinker. With a bit of a nudge Paper the Operator will go very far.
