On Saturday 29th November 2008, the mighty Pendulum stormed the Swindon Oasis Centre stage. I was lucky enough to be there to experience the band in all their glory. The opening act were two DJ's known as South Central. South Central were good. They knew how to keep the crowd going however, at some points during their set some of their music just sounded like noise. The highlight of their set for me, was their Brilliant remix of Rage Against the Machine's most well know track- Killing in the name which had the crowd singing and jumping in unison.
The time had come! It was time for the mighty Pendulum to take the stage. The lights went black. The crowd suddenly erupted into a deafening roar and Pendulum were officially on stage. They opened their set with Showdown which is the first track off of their second, and most recently released album In Silico. From the first beat of Showdown to the last beat of Granite the crowd were jumping and dancing non-stop.
The atmosphere inside the Oasis Centre was amazing that night and also incredibly sweaty!
Overall, Pendulum's their set was impeccable which included some of their old 'darker' tunes mixed in nicely with some fresh ones from the new album.
Set list:
Showdown
Fasten Your Seatbelts
Another Planet
Voodoo People
Propane Nightmares
9000 miles
Midnight Runner
Mutiny
Master Of Puppets cover
Slam
The Other Side

If you haven't yet had the opportunity or privilege of seeing Pendulum live I recommend that you do at your earliest convenience as you are likely to have your socks blown right off!
I had the time of my life and I'm sure you would too.
