What a strange collaboration "Guilty as Charged" is. Gym Class Heroes are a hip-hop "band" that made it up through the same scene as a lot of the latest popular rock music i.e. Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco and have been very popular with the emo kids. If you follow the British charts at all, you will be familiar with our own Estelle who predominantly covers R&B. Where did this strange collaboration idea of Gym Class Heroes and Estelle come from? It probably originated the fact that [it seems] in the latest Gym Class Heroes album release, they have started pitching their music higher than their original "scene" and have broken out and are looking at penetrating the Hip-Hop and R&B markets in the UK and more importantly for them in the US. Estelle is pretty well esteemed in the music world, and we have all heard of Gym Class Heroes, but who thought “I know lets mix these two for a single?”. I guess it shows the pull that Gym Class Hero possess to be able to get such a big selling UK artist on their single- which is undoubtedly due to Gym Class Heroes previous successes.

"Guilty as Charged"
is funky with heavy hints of jazz, R&B and Hip-Hop. It’s cool, of course, it’s Gym Class Heroes feat/Estelle! For me though, it’s just a little odd because, although the beat is catchy as hell and get's firmly lodged in your head, after just a couple of plays, you still can’t really dance or sing along to it. Or maybe that's just me!?!

Gym Class Heroes should work a little harder to get where they are quite blatantly musically aiming to go. There's much more competition in that market boys, so make sure you have all your i's dotted and t's crossed.
