The Paris Riots [Live] @ Moho, Manchester

Picture this, a rammed Moho, a crowd on the eve of almost a riot, you could almost touch the energy of excitement and anticipation, lads jumping around throwing red stripe over everyone in wait for their new idols, the sweet smell of perfume from the many girls lining up in the crowd to catch a glimpse of Manchester’s rawest and frankly most exciting new rock band (or French pop as they call it themselves) enter, The Paris Riots…LIVE!

The Paris Riots were headlining tonight and came on at about 12.50am, quite late and having not touched a drop of beer, or any alcohol for that matter I was a little worried about flagging by this point. I needed not have passed another thought about flagging because at that very moment The Paris Riots took control of the stage, exploding into their incredible new single ‘Introspection’, as a result I (and the rest of the crowd, who were there to be rocked) took on the energy of a powered up Batman at this point!

The Paris Riots posses that instant power to their music that no matter how knackered you might be, you just cannot help but jump around like an atom ricochet off every hard matter surface in close proximity. Their set was absolutely cracking and included the driving ‘Hotel Of Infidels’, plus ‘Vampire In The Sun’ that is, well, phenomenal to ‘White Wine’ which has more hooks than a fish tackle shop, as well as the beautiful ‘The Indian’.

They were simply overwhelmingly loud and ferocious, a band who posses all the attributes of a huge established international act. They have all the swagger and front of bands like The Rolling Stones/Oasis combined with such a driving backbone to their music it just holds onto you like an eagle clutching it’s pray.

The Paris Riots absolutely set the place alight. In fact I don’t actually think Moho has any roof left after The Paris Riots gig, they tore it off and the crowd stomped all over it! You can go to some gigs and come out thinking, ‘yeah that was quite good’ or ‘I enjoyed that’ but when you go and experience The Paris Riots live you come out being completely and utterly blown away. You’re left thinking ‘oh no! I want the gig to continue don’t stop now, I want more, I need more! They’re simply excellent! You should go and see them as soon as you can.

The set list for the evening went as follows:

Introspection
Hotel Of Infidels
Counting
Dirty Water
Vampire In The Sun
Wrong Time
Bulletproof Youth
The Indian
White Wine
Wasted

You can keep a track of them at Myspace at The Paris Riots on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads and on Facebook The Paris Riots | Facebook

As The Paris Riots are such cool people, they’re actually giving away their new single in return for your email address. All you need to do is pen down some sort of legible email address at a gig or email:
introspection@theparisriots.ne t and you’ll be rewarded with a new-very shiny-extremely limited edition CD of their new single (at a gig) or an MP3 of ‘Introspection’ if you email the above address. How good is that!

Watch out for the 'Introspection' video coming soon…
