I will probably get looked at sideways for saying this, but the singer of this band has 'the voice'. You may or may not understand this, but you get so many alternative/emo/indie bands whose singer has this voice. It's when they sound squeaky when trying to hit high notes, and then very rough when trying to reach low notes but then when they sing normally, it's nothing special. At least I think this. To me, 12 Summers Old sound just like any other band out there trying to make it big. They are competing with so many other bands and fail to think out of the box and try something else. I understand this is the way they want to sound, but you can't get anywhere when you're just the same as the band next door.

Despite this, This Could Get Dangerous starts off on a solid step with 'Being Honest', 'Weekend' and 'Corey Haim' which also features on their MySpace page, and deservedly-so. This track strikes me as the song that will really leave a mark at the start of the album. It's catchy, filled with decent riffs and great music. One of my favourites also.

Wake me up in the middle of the night/ Passed out the phone's still ringing/ Have a drink and tell me what you're thinking
Their next three tracks, 'Pictures Sold Me Out', 'Mailbu' and 'Little Things You Break' are a credit to themselves. 'Little Things You Break' is the first song on their MySpace which leads me to think that they think it's their best song or most popular one at least. I can see why it would be their most popular one. It's catchy, simple and does the job. They don't go all out on this track and I think that's what makes it good. I can imagine their fans screaming it back at them and them revelling in the fact that their fans are having a great time.

Let's talk, let's talk about the Little Things You Break/ We've been hanging by this thread, don't you cut those threads
12 Summers Old finish this record with some good songs in 'Pack It Up', 'Good Intentions' and 'Sinners Loose their Legs'.Another song which features on the band's MySpace, 'Sinners Loose Their Legs' is fast-paced, straight to the point rock. Deserving it's spot, it's followed by 'Broken Down Cars', a piano ballad which yet again, the singer complains about that someone, a subject that is related to heavily on this record. Finishing off is 'A Night to Remember', the perfect song to end the record. A fast, in-your-face song ready to get you on your feet and start jumping around.

I'll leave the lights on/ So you can find your way back home
12 Summers Old are a decent band, although they are in the shadows of so many other bands like them, I feel that they will come out the other side and succeed more than the rest.
