For those of you who know of Roll Deep, you're probably aware that Wiley, a fairly well known and successful MC, is part of this 14 member collective. According to their MySpace page, they claim many refer to them as the founders of Grime. Hmmmm, not quite sure that's true. But anyway, let's get back to the matter at hand here, the single.

'Moving in circles' is Roll Deeps' seventh single, and initially my first reaction when it started was to go “eurgh” as it's not really the sort of music I would generally choose to listen to. However, I let it play on and in its first listen I was starting to find some of the verse fairly likeable.

A polished mix of ska and grime, it's the kinda thing The Streets probably wished they could do. By the second listen I was actually genuinely liking it. Admittedly, I probably could bore of this song pretty quickly if I was to hear too much of it (a flashback of Wileys' “Wearing my Rolex” has suddenly come to mind, along with the memories of its continuous rotation on radio and music television), but for a short while it could be fun in it's welcoming simplicity and instant sing-along ability.

Ultimately though, I think 'Rolling In' will be fairly forgettable in time. It may peak a little bit in the next few months, but I can't imagine anyone in ten, or even five years time pull this single out and declare it a classic! However, it's very possible that the single from their next album could be good though.

this 14 member collective.
You would have thought they would be incredible with that many members.

More Fire Crew were brilliant. You have to be to get to Number 7!

And lest we forget the 10 man band that were Blazing Squad.
