Sebastien Grainger and The Mountains - ‘Who do we care for?’ Sebastien Grainger and The Mountains - ‘Who do we care for?’ is the first single release from Sebastien Grainger’s debut self titled record; Sebastien Grainger and The Mountains. Formerly of Death from Above 1979, Grainger has recently signed to Saddle Creek Records arguably (thanks to the efforts of co-founder and song writer Conor Oberst) best known for bringing Bright Eyes to the international world. ‘Who do we care for?’ is in all honesty, not a massive step away from the dance punk edge of Grainger’s former project but still shows a new level of song craftsmanship moving away from the choppiness of the jarred guitar punk to a more bass driven, chunky sound - musically aligning itself more with acts such as Queens of the Stone Age - however still keeping dance-esq. elements buried within the music for example the disco drum beat and the post chorus break downs which evokes a hands in the air moment - big time. The chorus is poppy as hell, with almost a British vibe in the delivery of the words at times, and the harmonies on the vocal lines remind me of later Ash - think Shining Bright but less whiney. All in all ’Who do we care for?’ is a great track. This is a song that:
