Kierononononon’s new website can be found at Kierononon - Awesome Brutal Techno Punk Music!, and you would think that the title of the site give us some clues as to the content of the album. It does, and it doesn’t. This album is not brutal in its mood, not techno in its production skills, yet it is punk at its heart.

Kierononononon sound like they might be more fun at a live show, rather than listening to the music on your home stereo. The first track “and you’re not James Bond either” attempts to mesh a host of different influences into one three minute excursion. In fact, the rest of the music on Three Man Party is like that too. Kierononononon try to mesh together Heavy Metal, Punk, Funk, Rock and Electronica into one coherent musical piece. They don’t really succeed, but have to be respected for trying.

The second track “……vampire vodka party” is probably the second best track on the CD, it has a nice clap sequence, reminiscent of Outkast and a catchy chorus, but that is about all. “ …..but I really shouldn’t have” is probably the strongest on the album, it verges into Death Metal territory and has easily audible influences from the band System of a Down.

What strikes me about the Three Man Party LP is that Kieronononon have a bundle of energy, coherent musical ideas and a great deal of imagination. What lets them down on Three Man Party was the production of the album, and perhaps the arrangement of the songs.
Keirononononon are undoubtedly, an arresting prospect live, yet this energy is just not packaged properly into the six track LP. It would be quite interesting to see where this band could go if they were to get their hands, or their wallets, on a good engineer and a producer who matched their obvious enthusiasm and technique. Kieronononon were let down by the studio they recorded at and by the equipment they used. It seemed sometimes on listening that the cheap drums were being drowned out by the cheap distortion pedals, or even worse, the vocals being masked by the muddy bass.

I am sure that Kieronononon have developed a strong healthy fan base, and I am sure that their live show is a bundle of hard edged, sweaty energy. They just need to learn, or find someone who can, package this energy into a studio album.
