Coinciding with the release of Marianne Faithfull's Easy Come, Easy Go, a collection of 18 songs written by other people and interpreted in Faithfull's unique way. 'Hold On Hold On' is a pacier version of a song often associated with 'The New Pornographer's' Neko Case.

Hold On Hold On was clearly chosen as a single for a reason, it certainly sounds autobiographical with lyrics like “Compared to some i’ve been around / but I really did try hard” or “I leave the pub at 3am / a long time gone”.

But it is perhaps Faithfull's voice that provides the most autobiographical element of the song, because although her voice lacks the same quality of yesteryear, she still perseveres and this is one of the stand out tracks of a pretty average album that Faithfull has done very well with.
