There doesn't seem to be anything particularly straightforward about Everything Everything's sound. It's all a little off-centre, a bit obscure, with edges and angles all flying into the mix when least expected. Despite all this, there is this grating annoyance with 'Photoshop Handsome'; it has got annoying, whiny vocals and an incessant beat with seemingly ridiculous lyrics centred around computer gaming. However, I do love it. It is no frills, it is in your face, it is just damn catchy, and most of all you won't forget it in a hurry.

Surely we can all grudgingly agree that sometimes music is so annoying, and irritating that it becomes essential and unforgettable. Now I'm not going to say Everything Everything are going to be quite like that (just yet) but 'Photoshop Handsome' certainly shares some of those qualities reminding very much of The Features.

As for B-Side "DNA Dump", well it's of the same vein but does contain some wonderfully scuzzy guitar breakdowns that bring it out of that "drummed into your skull" happy sound.

All in all, Photoshop Handsome by Everything, Everything is quite pleasing but is not for everyone (I would imagine). If you are of a sunny disposition then you won't go far wrong.
