White Light Parade - Wake Up [Single]

White Light Parade - Wake Up [Single]
What is surprising about the moment you first hear White Light Parade is how developed and full their sound is already, you really could imagine them filling stadiums already. Wake Up is the debut single from the Leeds (and Bradford) four-piece and the first track from their forthcoming album House of Commons. Loved by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and doing very well in the UK indie charts, it is very easy to hear why.

The band creates noisy, frantic beat driven rock, that’s not only well played but also dangerously catchy. Lead vocalist Danny Yates vocals are impressive and the song writing is undeniably strong. Yates sings passionately such well written lines as /There’s to much hate in this town/and it’s just dragging us down/, reminiscent of the skills of an early Noel Gallagher. The song is rammed full of heavy guitars, and ferocious drum beats, that sound inspired by American artists such Blink 182 and Greenday, however this is no bad thing by any means

During times of recession the kind of music White Light Parade are producing is just what the masses need, loud, fast, angst-ridden rock with catchy choruses and a tune that will stay in your head for hours. They might not have reached the status of Oasis yet, but if they continue producing material of this quality, they will surely soon be on their way.
