Has there been some kind of Spanish armada/bean-munching gringo infestation of Scotland of late that I have blindingly missed out on all-together? Damn-it I could have done with a poncho and nobody told me, though clearly like fellow men-who-no-namers Le Reno Amps, Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers have been touched by the greasy hand of El Matador unleashing the sort of stampeding track that would make Antonio Banderas proud and who wouldn't wanna do that?!?!?!
'Hang The Noose' begins with the wistful whisperings of the last man at the far out, eh, outpost before launching into the driving horns (yes resplendant with sax and trumpet players) and stomp of El Mariachi creating and instantly intriguing sound that's hard not to take a shine to as the diverse scottish harmonies of; well, of the enitre band on vocals make the claim of it being "all their fault" that their hombre has taken his life.
Nothing new stand out from the track but I just always find it an intrigue that bands play this kind of music with possibly no background in it having no doubt been brought up on Oasis and lager so it's quite a delight to hear - besides any music that conjures up the image of Clint Eastwood shooting banditos is no bad thing it is?
