Ooo la la, Mr Paolo Nutini! Well, I thought you were a bit of alright before, and then you go and release ‘Candy’, singing lyrics like:

Darling, I’ll bathe your skin, I’ll even wash your clothes…I’ll kiss your eyes and lay you down on your rug, Just give me some candy after my heart
in your perfectly accented tone, that will no doubt melt any lady for miles, myself included.

The single from the 22-year-old Scotsman, of Italian descent, is taken from his latest studio album Sunny Side Up, which was released on June 2nd to a rather outstanding reception from critics and fans alike. The track is a thoughtful tapestry of insightful lyrics, a mellow beat and a hook that’s catchy as hell, all of which form a warm and likeable song.

Not only am I now intrigued to hear Paolo Nutini’s full length Sunny Side Up, but I’m now convinced I would really really like to visit Scotland…
