The Duckworth-Lewis Method - The Age Of Revolution [Single]

What do you get when you combine the concept of cricket and Neil Hannon with Thomas Walsh of Pugwash?? The answer is..... one of the most original and weirdest singles I have EVER heard!

The Age of Revolution is a nice combination of the melodic folk pop that The Duckworth-Lewis Method have been known for throughout their careers (Most people remember The Divine Comedy’s National Express single from years back…) with a little tinge of the ska style given the theme.

Lyrically it’s mostly about cricket so non fans are going to have them go pretty much over their heads (I can only just about get some of the references myself!) Musically it’s a nice little jaunt through a cricket crowd and a bit of cricket history. I enjoyed the little vaudeville touch about 2:56 myself!

The only downside to this single is that I see it only appealing to fans of either cricket and/or the Divine Comedy only. If you want to hear more after the single, feel free! (Matt Berry shows up on one of the tracks for you Boosh/Darkplace/Snuff Box fans)
