Sworn Enemy- Total World Domination [Album] 1 Attachment(s) New York seems to be the hotspot for quite a few things. In this particular case, Hardcore Punk was born here starting with bands such as Sick Of It All, Hatebreed, Madball and Earth Crisis bringing on the trend. Sworn Enemy follow this trend and follow the same exact formula of 'we hate injustice' and the 'we’re going to make it sound like the message is going to punch you in the face' mentality. Various topics are covered throughout the course of "Total World Domination" such as war and religion. Basically the usual and expected hardcore topics, the only difference being the cover version of Blood By Blood’s "All Fucked Up" (another HXC band - HXC being the shortened word for hardcore by the way). Musically the drums and guitars mesh well and the vocals get the ‘REVOLUTION!’ message across through shouting it directly in your face. This review may sound slightly negative to some people, but personally I quite like the Hardcore Punk genre. My major problem (and Sworn Enemy are an example of this) is that the Hardcore Punk genre is starting to reach a stagnant time which I feel urgently needs addressing. For fans of Sick Of It All, Hatebreed, Madball and Earth Crisis. You will defintely enjoy it if you like any of those bands, otherwise I would suggest that you give this album a miss. ![]() |
