After much waiting the latest project from former Strapping Young Lad members Gene Hoglan (Drums) and Jed Simon (Guitar) has arrived in Tenet.

The reason for the wait you may ask? Due to Gene and Jed’s other commitments mostly and the fact that due to these no lead singer could be found…

Steve Souza formerly of Legacy and Exodus was recruited last year to do that very spot along with Glen Avelais (Forbidden) and Byron Stroud (a former member of SYL) on guitar and bass.

The album showcases the formula that SYL were known for but in a thrash environment due to the backgrounds of the other members leading to a nice mixture of the thrash/industrial sound 9minus the keyboards!)

Vocally with Steve his resemblance in vocal form to Bon Scott is strangely mesmerizing and does bring up the question that if Bon was still alive today (may he rest in peace) would he be doing this type of material? From this the answer would be a resounding yes!

Unlike many side projects this one has the potential to be a winner for fans of thrash and metal as a whole, with the calibre presented here this could be a dark horse in people’s end of year lists come the month of December.

A worthy side project for a change and a worthy contender for metal!
