Time for a quick history lesson to start this review off…

UFO are a British classic rock band that have been around since the late sixties, their biggest album was Lights Out in 1977 and they used to have Michael Schenker amongst their lineup (the guy that used to be in Scorpions).

People that cite them as major influences on their music include Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Kirk Hammet (Metallica) and Dave Mustaine from Megadeth to name but a few.

After reuniting in 2002 (with Schenker returning then leaving again) they continued to still have the cult followings with their hardcore fans…

Now we catch up with this new album "The Visitor". "The Visitor" is a definite must for all previous fans of the band. Phil Mogg’s vocals are still better than ever, mostly in part to Vinnie Moore’s guitar work along with Andy Parken on the drums, however you will find there is no bass credited on the album, this is due to Peter Way’s medical condition not allowing him to record.

Now keep this in mind as well, [from a personal standpoint] I knew who UFO were (Doctor Doctor gets played before every Maiden gig for instance), hell in a weird fact that was supposed to be JLS' (from X-factor ‘fame’) original name before they had to change it, but I’d never heard a full UFO album before this one.

Needless to say I was very surprised, the classic rock just flows through the songs including Hell Driver and Can’t Buy A Thrill. Stop Breaking Down has an amazing guitar solo near the end of the song.

From the experience of listening to "The Visitor" I will be going back and listening to the older UFO albums as if they are anything like "The Visitor" they will be a pleasure to listen to.
